Not much new in my life, still struggling day to day at work to complete the mysterious projects that were assigned to me in my absence. Thankfully, I haven't actually murdered anyone as of today though there is still one more day in this week...
Nothing exciting on the homefront either, well except if you count the fact that I am pretty close to being done with this mothering thing. The children keep rotating to the top of the shit list on an hourly basis and I am considering adoption. Anyone want to adopt me and take me away from my life?
In an effort to try and relax this evening I decided to grab a bottle of wine, a bowl of popcorn and work on my never ending picture repossession project. You might remember my little feud with that flucker picture website, you know the one that STOLE my pictures and made me pay ransom to get them back? For those of you with short memories, here's the story...
Anyhoo, been slowing working on this project and when I went back to it this evening I discovered that I had been copying THUMBNAILS of all of the pictures, not actual pictures. GAH! So I completely had to start over and I now have successfully copied about half of the almost 1300 photos to my laptop. Good times... Although tedious labor, it at least kept my mind off other things like work, laundry and doing anything else. Hopefully soon I will be able to transfer these photos to a USB drive thingy and then erase them from the hard drive to start the process over with the remaining pictures. Once that is done, I will be sending flickr a little letter telling them exactly what I think of them... Gotta get all my pictures first though.
Unrelated, has anyone read or seen the movie, My Sister's Keeper? I finished this book on vacation and I am DYING to talk to somebody about it but I know there are a few people that have NOT read the book or seen the movie and you can NOT talk about this story to anyone that wants to read it or see it. So humor me and let me know if you have had the pleasure of enjoying this story. I just gotta talk to someone about it! Just don't give away anything in your comments please!
Other than that, my bottle is empty as well as my bowl, so I guess I will go to sleep, but just for shits and giggles I will leave you with this most horrifying picture and you see if you can guess how long ago it was taken...
And so it begins

Feb. 97. Don't ask me how I know, I have my ways...lol!
I read the book, not seen the movie.
That is so frustrating! When I first got a digital camera it was right before I went to Senegal for 6 months. When I came back I uploaded all my photos to Snapf1sh and ordered prints. And then, since I wasn't used to digital photos yet, I decided that I could delete them all off my computer (which, at the time, had limited memory, and flash drives were very expensive) because they were just like film negatives and what does anyone ever do with those?
A couple years later I came to my senses and decided I wanted them back in my possession. And then had to PAY to download each original file back to my own computer. It was worth it, but I was still VERY ANNOYED.
I read the book too! Great one...can't wait to see the movie!
Sorry about the cluster with your pictures. That sucks!
Well, I have read the book...so there. Hopefully will see the movie this weekend.
Second, I will adopt you.
Third, that picture made me laugh. A lot. The boys look SO young.
I could copy everything HC wrote almost word for word, except the book and movie stuff. You definitely gave me a giggle this morning.
When I was reading your second paragraph I got distracted in the middle (annoying people want me to WORK!) and what was left in my head was "well except if you count the fact that I am pretty".
And I thought to myself, 'YES she is. I think I will try to adopt that Kat.'
Imagine my surprise when I got back to the blog and found you were looking for a new home!
But then I remembered that our zoning only lets us have two pets (oops!) and since we are already over the limit, I guess I'll have to pass.
Btw, be careful what you save your photos as (the filename) because when internet stalkers right click on the picture and hit 'save as' your filename will come up.
This is why you should never name a photo with your social security number. :o)
i just finished reading the book and I LOVED it!!! if you wanna chat about it just e-mail me. That was the best book I have read in a long time.
Giggles
yep its feb 97
I read it too. One doesn't hear it often nowadays, but I remember (before I read the book) hearing about couples who had a second child just for the reason in the book. What an agonizing situation.
I read the book, but haven't seen the movie yet.
I read the book too. If you want to visit about it, e-mail me because I'd like to know what you thought about it.
I haven't gone to see the movie because they usually don't hold true to the book. Example: First Wives Club. It was such an excellent book and the movie was ridiculous. I felt so sorry for the author of the book!
